What we ask for, and why
You are handing a youth basketball league information about your child. You deserve to know exactly what happens to it. No lawyers were asked to make this confusing.

The short version
We collect what we need to put your son in the right group, reach you about the season, and act sensibly if he gets hurt. We use it to run the league and nothing else. We do not sell it, rent it, or hand it to advertisers. There is no analytics or ad tracking on this site, including the application form. Ask us to remove your family’s information and we will.
What we collect
Only what you type into the application form on this site. That is:
- Your son’s first and last name, date of birth, school grade, and the name of his school.
- Your home address.
- Medical conditions and allergies — both optional, and only if you choose to tell us.
- A contact email, plus the parent or guardian’s full name, email, and mobile number.
- His jersey size.
- Your agreement to the league rules and waiver, the name you type as a signature, and the date you sign.
That is the whole list. We do not ask for a social security number, a photograph, or payment details — no card is ever entered on this website.
Why we need it
- To place your son. Age, grade, and what coaches see on the court decide which of the 3 groups he trains with.
- To reach you. Email and phone are how we confirm his application, tell you he’s accepted, and let you know if a Sunday changes.
- To keep him safe. Medical notes and allergies mean a coach isn’t guessing in an emergency, and your number is the first one called.
- To order a jersey that fits.
- To keep a record. The waiver you agree to is only meaningful if we can show what you agreed to and when.
Who sees it
The person who runs BBL NYC, and the coaches who need a specific piece of it to do their job on a Sunday. Nobody else. The applications live behind a password that only the league organizer has.
Two suppliers necessarily handle the data in passing: the company that hosts this website and its database, and the service that delivers our email. They process it to run the site and send those messages, and for nothing else.
What we never do
- We never sell, rent, or trade your data.
- We never share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We never use it for marketing unrelated to the league.
- We do not run analytics, advertising pixels, or third-party trackers on this site. The application form is not tracked, and neither is the rest of the site. Our host keeps ordinary server logs, which we do not use to build a profile of anyone.
How long we keep it
Applications stay in our records for as long as we run the league, because the signed waiver is part of the record of a season your son played. If you would rather we didn’t hold your family’s information, email us. We will remove it and tell you plainly if there is anything we have kept and why.
Photos on this site
The photographs here and on Instagram were taken at BBL NYC sessions. We never publish a child’s name alongside a picture, and we don’t tag children.
If your family appears in a photo you would rather we didn’t publish, email BBLNYC@yahoo.com with a short description of the photo — or the page it’s on — and we will take it down. You do not have to explain why.
Children’s information
The application is written for a parent or guardian to complete. We do not ask children for information directly, and there is no account, login, comment box, or message board on this site that a child could use.
Changes to this policy
If what we do with your information changes, we change this page and move the date at the top. It reads 24 August 2026 today.
